The Western Force have recruited Australian Sevens star James Stannard for their 2011 Super 15 campaign.
The scrumhalf played for the Force in 2008 as a rookie and is now ready to make his return to the Perth-based franchise after gaining some valuable experience playing on the Sevens circuit.
Stannard's form for the Wallaby Sevens has seen him earn a place in the squad that will go to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi later this year.
"James is a quality player and during his time at the club previously was a popular figure amongst team mates and supporters alike," Rugby Western Australia CEO Vern Reid said.
"He was very keen to return and we're looking forward to having him back playing for the Western Force.
"He will complement our stocks at scrumhalf and we have no doubt he'll fit into the system very quickly and be a strong contributor for the Force next season."
The 27-year-old has signed a single season contract, and will add cover at scrumhalf following a knee injury to young gun Justin Turner at the IRB Junior World Championships in Argentina last month.
