London Business School and Columbia Univ Win MBA Rugby World Championship 2010-05-05 17:03:42

On a beautiful rugby weekend, London Business School won the Men’s Cup and Columbia University won the Women’s Cup in the 30th Anniversary MBA Rugby World Championship, hosted by Duke University in Danville, VA. Twenty schools from three continents competed over three days, playing an average of six matches each over the weekend. Over 650 students participated in the tournament, held on the all-weather pitches in Danville, VA.
In the final, London School of Business (London, United Kingdom) took the title in a hard fought match against Ivey (Univ. of Western Ontario, Canada). In the women’s bracket, Columbia defeated London School of Business for the cup. Full results can be found at the bottom of this release.
The MBA Rugby World Championships is an annual tournament hosted each year by the Duke Grad RFC. Each April, teams from around the world come to compete in the premier rugby tournament for MBA students. Teams participate in group play on Saturday (3 games) and advance to the knock-out round on Sunday. The weekend includes not only high-quality rugby, but also social events to give the participants a chance to meet other students. The tournament is hosted by the City of Danville and Duke University.
