The French Rugby Federation wants Saturday's postponed Six Nations game against Ireland to be rescheduled for next season.
Saturday night's game at the Stade de France was called off just minutes before kick-off due to freezing conditions in Paris.
The Six Nations organising committee were initially looking at playing the match in one of the two upcoming "free" weekends during the course of this year's tournament - this coming weekend or the weekend of March 3-4.
But following a Six Nations Council meeting on Monday, the committee confirmed that the match would "not take place this weekend".
With the French clubs keen not to have their own season further disrupted by international call-ups, FFR chief Pierre Camou said: "France wants the match to be played next season due to the scheduling problems presented by the Top 14."
